REDMAGIC 12 Pro with 8,400mAh battery, 185Hz display goes global from $949

REDMAGIC is throwing down the gauntlet again. The REDMAGIC 12 Pro officially launched globally today, Nov. 3, and its spec sheet reads less like that of a smartphone and more like a portable supercomputer. In a mobile gaming landscape where demanding titles can push devices to their limits, squeezing an 8,400mAh battery into an 8.55mm-thin chassis — and pairing it with a super-fast 185Hz display — feels like exactly the kind of overkill we love to see.

Under the hood, this one is a beast. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s new 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 5G chipset, featuring a next-generation Oryon CPU clocked at up to 5GHz. It’s paired with REDMAGIC’s dedicated RedCore R5 gaming chip to help handle demanding gaming tasks and deliver responsive touch inputs.

But raw power means little if your phone turns into a literal hot potato after 20 minutes of gameplay. To address that, the nubia sub-brand introduced its AquaCore Cooling System 3.0. The setup combines dual-loop liquid cooling, Liquid Metal 4.0, an advanced vapor chamber, and a tiny 25,500 RPM turbo fan with RGB lighting. The REDMAGIC 12 Pro is unapologetically a gamer’s phone, right down to its Nightfreeze (Black) and Subzero (Silver) colorways, which showcase its internal cooling hardware.

The screen is a 6.85-inch 1.5K BOE X11 OLED panel boasting an industry-first 185Hz refresh rate. More importantly, it offers a true full-screen experience. Thanks to the company’s ninth-generation under-display camera technology, there are no notches or hole-punch cutouts to interrupt your view. The display also reaches up to 5,000 nits of local peak brightness when needed.

As for endurance, that large 8,400mAh battery supports up to 80-watt wired and wireless fast charging. One particularly useful feature is bypass charging, which lets you power the phone directly without routing power through the battery. This helps reduce battery heat during marathon gaming sessions. And because it’s 2026, there’s also built-in AI functionality through Android 17-based REDMAGIC OS 12, alongside Google Gemini integration for everyday tasks.

Global release announcement

Preorders begin with early-bird vouchers from Nov. 12 to 17, giving buyers who secure the perks access to the smartphone a day ahead of the global open sale. Early access starts Nov. 17, while general sales open on Nov. 18.

The international rollout is remarkably aggressive. The REDMAGIC 12 Pro is heading to North America and across Europe, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Croatia, Luxembourg, the Republic of Cyprus, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, Poland, Estonia, Portugal, Finland, Romania, France, Slovakia, Germany, Slovenia, Greece, Spain, Sweden, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, and Malta.

It’s likewise launching in the United Kingdom (England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland) and the Asia-Pacific region, covering Hong Kong, Macau, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, India, and New Zealand. Middle Eastern markets include Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, and Iraq. The rollout also covers Mexico and Chile in Latin America, as well as Israel and Turkey.

As for how much all this power will cost you, pricing varies by region and memory configuration. Check out the chart below for the complete details.
