OPPO’s upcoming selfie smartphone, the OPPO F5, has been shown off on numerous occasions, including the recently concluded and much-buzzed-about Star Magic Ball 2017.

Giant posters have also sprung up across malls in the Philippines, giving us a better look at the phone’s back. If you’ve seen some of the images and footage, however, you may have noticed that the angle from which the photo or video was taken obscures the front of the phone.

And that is probably by design. The front of the OPPO F5 is meant to be a mystery leading up to launch day, to hide a number of obvious specs and features and keep the public on their toes.

Is the OPPO F5 coming out with dual front-facing cameras? Will it adopt the “hot in 2017” 18:9 format? More importantly, will it look like the Vivo V7+, which has been sitting in store shelves for about a week? No, yes, and yes, in that order.

Just how do we know for sure? We don’t, but ABS-CBN Lifestyle yesterday published a makeup tutorial on Facebook — and in the process revealed the OPPO F5 in its entirety — front and back, leaving nothing to the imagination. In high definition, too.

A sponsored post we saw in our feed today. ABS-CBN Lifestyle: ‘Get some expert advice from Metro magazine’s beauty editor Kate Paras on how to achieve the gorgeous looks of Julia Barretto, Coleen Garcia, and Jessy Mendiola during the Star Magic Ball.’

Judging from the clip, the OPPO F5 will look very similar to Vivo’s midranger, but with a different antenna design and button layout and a circular, not squarish, fingerprint reader on the back. The rest of the hardware is pretty much unchanged.

The rear camera is a single-lens unit accompanied by LED flash. The front on the F5, meanwhile, sports a rather large display, possibly 6 inches from end to end, with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Selfies are shot with one lens instead of two with the OPPO F3, though it’s likely that the F5 will be able to pull off the former’s camera tricks entirely through software.

In any case, the OPPO F5 will be formally unveiled in the Philippines on October 26, so the wait isn’t too bad.
