JUST a few days ago, ABS-CBN artists were seen teasing the OPPO F5. Tonight at the Star Magic Ball 2017, we’re getting a better view of the successor to the OPPO F3. In fact, it’s our best look at live units of the selfie phone yet.

One of the clearest images of the device comes from Jessy Mendiola, who was getting ready for the celebrity gathering at the time the photo below was taken.

If you’re familiar with how the recently released Vivo V7+ looks, you’d think that Vivo’s smartphone and the OPPO F5 are one and the same. Until you take a second look at them.

While the V7+ sports a squircle (you know, “square” and “circle”) fingerprint sensor, OPPO’s upcoming selfie expert has a round one. It seems that the F5’s volume keys are on the other side — the right part — as well.

But yes, the rest of the back and edges look similar — from the antenna band to the rear camera’s placement. As we reported almost a week ago, it seems that the two will have the same 6-inch 18:9 screen, too. We wonder how the two are different inside. We’ll know soon enough, for sure, because the OPPO F5 will be launched in October.

Until then, we’ll have to settle with some of the OPPO F5’s “appearances” at the Star Magic Ball 2017 — plus selfies taken with the phone.
