BY now, you must have known about Cherry Mobile’s first dual-camera phones, the Cherry Mobile Flare P1 and P1 Plus. You probably want any one of them, but your budget is tight. You may want to consider the Cherry Mobile Flare P1 Mini (click for complete specs) and the Cherry Mobile Flare P1 Lite (click for full specs) then.

Both also come from the company’s new P Series of smartphones, which was officially introduced yesterday. However, they won’t cost you more than P2,000 (roughly $40). The P1 Mini will retail at P1,799 ($36), and the P1 Lite will sell for P1,999 ($40). Just don’t set your expectations high. After all, the devices are as affordable as they come.

What they do boast is a decent grip and a build that looks premium for their price.

The Cherry Mobile Flare P1 Mini is a 4-inch handset running Android 6.0 Marshmallow that is powered by a 1.2GHz Spreadtrum 7731 quad-core processor. It features only 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, but you can insert a microSD card to extend its memory up to 32GB. For taking pictures, there’s a 5-megapixel camera on the back and a 2-megapixel camera on the front. A 1,300mAh battery takes charge of keeping the phone powered.

The Cherry Mobile Flare P1 Lite offers the same specs, except it is bigger than the P1 Mini at 4.5 inches; its capacitive screen’s resolution is higher at 480 x 854 (compared with the Mini’s 400 x 800 pixels); and its battery capacity is bigger at 1,500mAh.

These two, along with the Cherry Mobile Flare P1 and P1 Plus, will be available starting this month.
