In case you missed the announcement, Lazada Philippines is holding a massive sale to conclude its Online Revolution event. Over the five-day sale period, shoppers will enjoy big savings on countless products and services until December 12.

And to make those bargains even more enticing, PayMaya users will get an additional 20 percent off Lazada purchases of at least P500 (around $10) by using the voucher code “PYMYDEC” at the checkout.

The code can be used multiple times on the website and in the mobile app until December 15, giving customers plenty of time to complete their Christmas shopping sans the hassle of doing it offline in crowded retail locations.

And let’s not forget the convenience of being able to hunt down discounted items using any computer or mobile device, at any hour.

The maximum discount a user can get per checkout is P400 ($8), which is nothing to sneeze at considering there’s no shortage of jaw-dropping deals on the site right now. Case in point: This merchant is selling the LG V20, last year’s big-screen flagship from the Korean company, for P14,999 ($258). Tempting, yes?

Of course, you’ll need a PayMaya account to redeem the voucher, though registration is quick, painless, and more importantly, free of charge (we went through the motions to activate our accounts). Plus, you can use PayMaya as a checkout option for other purchases — both online and offline —  and to pay for subscriptions and bills as it uses the Visa payment platform. You can even link your PayMaya account to PayPal.

Recently, PayMaya partnered with Facebook to allow fund transfers between Messenger users. However, it bears noting that transferring money with the chat app requires an upgraded account, which can be completed online via Messenger’s video-chat feature. Upgrading is free, but it took PayMaya a day to complete the verification process. Just something to keep in mind.
