It looks like Honor Philippines will kick off 2020 with a wearable instead of a smartphone.

The brand has started teasing the Honor Watch Magic 2. Better yet, it has revealed that “the call for innovation will be unveiled on February 20.” We still don’t know if that’s the local launch date itself or the day Honor is announcing details of the product’s launch. But at least we know that it will be real soon.

Think of the Honor Watch Magic 2 as the affordable version of the Huawei Watch GT 2. The device promises two weeks of battery life — a week more than that of the original Watch Magic — thanks to the more power-efficient Kirin A1 chip. It has personalized watch faces, 15 goal-based fitness modes, 13 running courses, dual satellite positioning systems, a stress monitor, and an integrated speaker and microphone.

There is also an always-on display, so you can check out the time without waiting for the screen to brighten.

Its predecessor is currently competitively priced at P7,490 (around $148). So we are pretty sure the Honor Watch Magic 2 is going to be a value-for-money smartwatch as well, likely starting at less than P10,000 ($198). We suggest that you keep an eye out for it.
