The POCO C40, which debuted in Vietnam more than a month ago, is coming to the Philippines soon. And when we say soon, we mean “July 15 soon.”

POCO made the announcement earlier today, July 13, revealing that the smartphone will be priced at P7,499 (around $133), though those who’ll buy it on its first sale day on the brand’s official store on Shopee can get the C40 for only P5,999 ($106). That translates to a P1,500 ($27) discount.

One of the POCO C40’s highlights is a 60Hz LCD screen that measures 6.71 inches diagonally and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. You also get a 6,000mAh battery that charges up to 18 watts over a USB-C port, a 13-megapixel dual camera on the back, and a 5-megapixel sensor housed in the budget phone’s waterdrop notch. It also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and Android 11 with MIUI 13 on top.

As opposed to other units from brands under Xiaomi‘s wings, the POCO C40 is powered by an entry-level 4G chip — the 11nm JR10 — from a relatively unknown chipmaker, China’s JLQ. That SoC is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
