There’s a new affordable 5G smartphone in town! First introduced in August, the global variant of the POCO M4 5G is now official in the Philippines and will be available exclusively through Xiaomi‘s official Lazada store.
Compared to the Indian M4 5G, the international release gets downgraded sensors on the front and back. Otherwise, it’s almost the same device, down to the 5G chipset and memory configuration.
The latest offering from the brand will go on sale from September 30 for an introductory price of only P9,599 or $164 converted. To sweeten the deal, the first 200 online buyers will receive a free 10,000mAh Redmi Power Bank worth P899 ($15). Fans who join POCO’s Facebook livestream on the said date will also get a chance to win a POCO M4 5G.
The handset will be offered in Cool Blue, Power Black, and POCO Yellow colors and comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
The POCO M4 5G is powered by the tried-and-tested 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC with a 5G modem, LPDDR4X RAM, and UFS 2.2 storage. For smooth performance, the phone also packs a 6.58-inch waterdrop display with FHD+ resolution and a dynamic refresh rate up to 90Hz. POCO says the screen can switch between 30Hz, 60Hz, and 90Hz depending on the task.
The battery is 5,000mAh and supports 18-watt fast charging over USB-C, while the rear-camera setup pairs a 13-megapixel main sensor with a 2-megapixel depth sensor for portraits. Up front, the selfie camera is equipped with a 5-megapixel sensor. As expected, the M4 5G runs MIUI 13 for POCO on top of Android 12.
