You think HONOR Philippines is slowing down a bit after successfully launching the HONOR X9b 5G? Think again.

(Update, February 21: The HONOR X8b has been launched in the Philippines!)

The brand has announced the impending February 21 local arrival of the HONOR X8b alongside the HONOR Magic V2 foldable. Recall that the smartphone debuted in December 2023. The version with 8GB of RAM — expandable up to 16GB via dynamic RAM — and a huge 512GB storage was sold in Malaysia for RM999 (roughly P11,752 or $210) and in Saudi Arabia for SAR799 (P11,941 or $213) at launch.

And yes, it’s true, the HONOR X8b — the Glamorous Green color variant, in particular — is a head-turner, looking even much better in person than pictures, videos, and its price tag would lead you to believe. The leather texture on the back, punctuated by a lychee-skin design, gives the unit a retro luxury kind of charm.

It’s not all about looks, of course. HONOR is proud of the phone’s imaging system here. The rear and front setups pair a 108-megapixel triple camera with a 50-megapixel shooter featuring a selfie light. The latter is tucked under a punch-hole cutout, right where the company’s Magic Capsule will pop up to present real-time app information.

As we at Revü teased last week. The official hashtag for the HONOPR X8b is #MassiveStorage, so expect the 512GB model to be released in the Philippines

Expect the HONOR X8b’s AMOLED screen to be tough, because just like that of the HONOR X9a, the yet-to-be-announced smartphone’s display got a five-star Overall Drop Resistance Certification from Switzerland-based firm SGS.

That’s not all. The front panel also offers a 3,240Hz high-frequency PWM dimming that’s flicker-free-certified by independent testing company TÜV Rheinland, along with other features such as 4,096 levels of brightness adjustment and Dark and E-book modes, to help reduce eye fatigue.

The HONOR X8b likewise comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, a 4,500mAh battery with 35-watt fast charging, and MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13. Watch HONOR Philippines’ 6 p.m. launch live on Facebook on the 21st to know more about the handset.
