More than a month ago, TECNO made its second appearance at MWC [Mobile World Congress] in Barcelona, Spain, and showcased innovations and devices such as the POVA 6 Pro 5G.
Fast-forward to April, and the budget-gaming-focused series welcomes new members with the official reveal of the TECNO POVA 6 and TECNO POVA 6 NEO, two similar-looking smartphones whose design doesn’t stray from the dynamic-tech look of the Pro version.
Both feature a 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 Ultimate chipset, a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen with a punch-hole cutout, dual speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning, and a user interface based on Android 14.
But as expected, the POVA 6 gets the better end of the stick with a narrower chin, a 108-megapixel dual-camera system on the back, a 32-megapixel selfie shooter, an in-display fingerprint reader, an infrared sensor, and a 6,000mAh battery that supports 70-watt fast charging. It should be easier to hold with one hand as well, thanks to its 166.2 X 76.8 X 7.88mm dimensions. Compare that with the other model’s 168.6 X 76.6 X 9.23mm.
The POVA 6 NEO, on the other hand, is equipped with a rear-camera setup that’s headlined by a 50-megapixel sensor, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. However, the phone boasts a bigger battery rated at 7,000mAh. You’ll have to deal with a slower, 33-watt charging support.
How much will the handsets be? When will they be released? Which countries will get them first? Will at least one of them be launched in the Philippines? TECNO hasn’t announced the prices and availability of the POVA 6 and POVA 6 NEO yet, but the wait shouldn’t probably be too long now.
