Huawei‘s new camera-centric smartphone lineup, the Pura 70 series, has arrived in the Philippines for preorder. Ditching the familiar P series moniker, the latest Pura 70 devices promise a new chapter while retaining the previous generation’s emphasis on camera prowess.
Filipino consumers can now secure their units of the Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro, or the top-of-the-line Pura 70 Ultra directly from Huawei’s official website. Prices start at a competitive P47,999 (roughly $833) for the base model.
Stepping up to the Pro variant bumps the price to P59,999 ($1,042), while the feature-packed Pura 70 Ultra reaches a premium P79,999 ($1,389). All phones will be offered in a single configuration with 12GB or 16GB of RAM (Pura 70 Ultra only) and up to 512GB of internal storage.
Customers who book their order on Huawei’s official online store and place a P1,000 ($17) refundable deposit will be eligible to receive freebies worth a whopping P17,998 ($312), on top of a one-year Accidental Damage Protection plan worth P3,999 ($69) and a stylish magnetic case for their chosen Pura 70 model.

Color options vary by model, with the standard Huawei Pura 70 offering a wider selection of white, black, and pink shades. The Pura 70 Pro keeps it classic with black and white choices, while the Ultra goes for a more premium vegan-leather look with black and green options.
While all three Huawei Pura 70 models share a focus on mobile photography, there are some key distinctions under the hood. The standard Pura 70 breaks the mold with flat sides, giving it a more industrial aesthetic compared to the curved edges of its pricier siblings.
But the crown jewel of the series is undoubtedly the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra. This feature-packed flagship phone boasts a massive one-inch image sensor and a unique camera lens that extends from and retracts into the unit’s rear, similar to a compact point-and-shoot camera.

This powerhouse is also flanked by a 40-megapixel ultrawide sensor and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, promising exceptional versatility for capturing any scene. Huawei’s promotional materials showcase the Pura 70 Ultra’s prowess, claiming it can capture sharp photos of even the fastest-moving subjects, like a supercar hurtling at 300 km/h. The Pura 70 and Pura 70 Pro pack a slightly smaller, but still formidable, 50-megapixel main sensor reported to be a custom OV50H unit from OmniVision. All models across the line share a single 13-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
Huawei’s Pura 70 series marks a significant shift, ditching the familiar P series branding for a fresh start of the lineup. With a focus on powerful cameras, a unique retractable lens on the Ultra variant, and a starting price of P47,999 ($833), the Pura 70 series offers a compelling proposition for mobile-photography enthusiasts.
