(Update, August 23: The ASUS ROG Ally X is now available in the Philippines!)

ASUS Philippines has revealed that it’s bringing the ASUS ROG Ally X to the country. The local launch is scheduled for August 23, with availability set on the same day as well.

Recall that the handheld gaming PC debuted at Computex 2024 in Taiwan with the promise of extending the two-hour battery life of its predecessor while maintaining the powerful performance that made the original ROG Ally a hit. It now comes with a doubled battery capacity at 80Wh, ensuring longer gaming sessions without the constant worry of running out of juice.

Additionally, ASUS has equipped the ROG Ally X with a generous 24GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a full-sized 1TB SSD to significantly enhance the device’s performance and storage capabilities. While the core hardware, including the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU and the 1080p 120Hz display, remains largely unchanged, the increased RAM is expected to boost performance in demanding titles.

Despite the familiar internals, ASUS has made significant strides in the portable gaming console’s design and ergonomics. The new shell offers a more comfortable grip, while the redesigned fans and internal layout contribute to improved cooling and performance. The inclusion of a full-sized SSD also opens up possibilities for future storage upgrades.

While the absence of the XG Mobile connector might disappoint some users, the addition of a second USB-C port provides greater flexibility for connecting peripherals and charging the device.

Abroad, the ASUS ROG Ally X is priced at $799 (roughly P46,182). There’s no word yet on how much it will cost in the Philippines, but just take note that the Ryzen Z1 Extreme version of the first ROG Ally was released in the country a year ago for P43,995 ($761).
