Xiaomi 14T series Sept 26 global launch: What to expect

Xiaomi has finally confirmed the launch date of its next set of flagship smartphones on the global market.

According to the world’s third-largest smartphone vendor, it will unveil the Xiaomi 14T series in Berlin, Germany, on September 26. And while it didn’t give a hint of what to expect from the lineup, we may have a glimpse into what awaits, thanks to a recent leak.

A TikTok video that was taken down showed a sleek and stylish design language for two models, the Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro. We can expect a near-bezel-less viewing experience courtesy of a punch-hole screen that could be of the AMOLED kind, feature a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, measure 6.67 inches, and house a 32-megapixel camera.

We also see a familiar rectangular camera module on the back, potentially housing an impressive triple-lens setup. Reports say the regular and Pro models’ rear camera systems are headlined by 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 and 50-megapixel LF900 sensors, respectively. Of course, they’re still co-engineered with German optics manufacturer Leica.

Rumors suggest the Xiaomi 14T will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra processor, while the Xiaomi 14T Pro might boast a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Plus. Both chipsets promise smooth performance and top-notch processing power for even the most demanding tasks.

Leaks likewise hint at IP68 water and dust resistance and a 5,000mAh battery on both models.

Time will tell if these details are accurate, so mark your calendars now because the 26th is just a few weeks away. And since Xiaomi has already listed the 14T series on Shopee Philippines, expect at least one of the two phones to be available locally.
