vivo has officially pulled back the curtain on the vivo T4 Ultra 5G, a device that aims to punch above its weight class by integrating some serious flagship-tier hardware into a more accessible package.

At the core of the vivo T4 Ultra 5G experience is its display. While earlier reports suggested a slightly larger panel, the retail unit boasts a 6.67-inch quad-curved AMOLED screen. It’s a 1.5K resolution affair with a 120Hz refresh rate, but what truly stands out is its local peak brightness of 5,000 nits. That’s a number usually reserved for top-tier flagships, promising excellent outdoor visibility. For eye comfort, the company has included 2,160Hz PWM dimming, and the display is protected by Schott Xensation α cover glass. An in-screen optical fingerprint scanner is also present for biometric security.

The vivo T4 Ultra 5G packs a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Plus processor. This is a significant leap, bringing a level of raw performance typically found in devices like last year’s vivo X100s Pro. Paired with LPDDR5 RAM (up to 12GB, with an additional 12GB of virtual RAM) and UFS 3.1 storage (up to 512GB), the newly launched smartphone is built for demanding tasks and seamless multitasking. Keeping this powerhouse cool is a substantial 4,362mm² vapor chamber cooling system.

The camera system is where the “Ultra” moniker truly earns its stripes. The rear setup features a versatile triple-camera array. Leading the charge is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 main sensor with optical image stabilization. Complementing this is an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, but the real star is the 50-megapixel IMX882 periscope camera. This lens offers 3x optical zoom, a 10x telephoto macro mode for intricate closeups, and a 100x digital zoom, a significant step up for mobile photography in this category. For selfies and video calls, there’s a 32-megapixel front camera capable of 4K video recording.

The ‘Ultra’ announcement

Powering the vivo T4 Ultra 5G is a 5,500mAh battery, which, while not the largest in the T4 series, is still substantial for a day’s use. More importantly, it supports rapid 90-watt fast charging, promising quick top-ups. The phone runs on Android 15 with vivo’s Funtouch OS 15 layered on top. The brand is committing to three major OS upgrades and four years of security patches, a commendable commitment for longevity. The device also integrates several AI-driven functions, including AI Note Assist, Circle to Search, AI Transcript Assist, and AI Call Translation, leveraging the Dimensity 9300 Plus’ AI capabilities.

Other notable features include dual stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and USB-C connectivity. The device also gets an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.

In India where it has debuted, the vivo T4 Ultra 5G is priced at ₹37,999 (roughly P24,817 in Philippine pesos and $445 in U.S. dollars), ₹39,999 (P26,124 or $468), and ₹41,999 (P27,434 or $491) for the 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB variants, respectively.
