Many budget tablets feel like they’re one accidental drop away from a shattered screen and an expensive repair. HONOR is trying to change that narrative with the newly launched HONOR Pad X8b, a sleek but surprisingly rugged Android slate that just hit the Philippines.

Available in a Space Grey finish, the device is exclusively available on TikTok Shop right now. Early buyers who grab it between April 14 and April 21 will get it for an accessible introductory price of ₱9,999 (roughly $167) and score a free stylus pen. After the one‑week TikTok Shop promo, it will roll out to the brand’s open channels nationwide.

Designed to survive a bumpy commute, a chaotic home office, or a toddler’s tantrum, the Pad X8b is built tough. HONOR managed to craft a premium metal body that weighs just 499g and measures a remarkably thin 7.25mm. Don’t let the slim profile fool you, though; it uses new embedding material technology to boost structural strength by 90%. In an industry first, the tablet even scored Drop Resistance and Crush Resistance certifications from Switzerland’s SGS.

On the front is an 11‑inch HONOR Eye Comfort FullView Display with a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. HONOR says the higher refresh rate helps reduce lag and motion blur — a claim that, if it holds up, could make the Pad X8b more appealing for casual gaming and late‑night streaming.

The HONOR Pad X8b video teaser we posted days ago. Our review should be up soon!

For audio, this model rocks a quad-speaker system tuned with HONOR Sound technology and Hi-Res Audio certification. It also features clever smart voice enhancement to boost midrange vocals and suppress background noise.

Under the hood, the HONOR Pad X8b is running on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G processor. While it’s focused more on efficiency than raw, top-tier power, it is paired with a large 10,100mAh battery that screams endurance. It can supposedly hit 97 days on standby or crank out 21 hours of online video playback on a single charge. For students or professionals constantly on the go, battery anxiety just isn’t going to be a factor.

The tablet runs MagicOS 10, based on the latest version of Android. It’s packed with productivity tools, including Multi-Window support for juggling up to three apps at once and an App Extender to force unsupported apps into landscape mode without annoying black bars. Interestingly, it also taps into Gemini for AI-enhanced, dual-screen multitasking and pulling contextual information right off the screen without having to switch apps.

If you’re handing this off to a child, there’s a dedicated HONOR Kids space. It gives parents total control with dual-layer password protection, precise time management rules for weekdays versus weekends, and aggressive eye-care tools like a blue light filter, E-Book mode, and real-time posture alert.

With all these features packed into a slim, durable frame, the company is positioning the HONOR Pad X8b as a practical everyday tablet that doesn’t compromise on resilience or usability. After the introductory promo, the official suggested retail price is set at ₱10,999 ($184), making it one of the more compelling options in the budget segment now.
