Sea of Stars recently launched on Android and iOS, joining an increasingly impressive list of games that have been successfully ported from PC and console directly to our pockets. It sits right alongside heavy-hitters like Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, GRID: Legends, Maneater, the original Red Dead Redemption, and more recently, 2013’s Tomb Raider.
But if you’re an Android user living in the Philippines, there’s an extra reason to celebrate. For a limited time, you can buy the game for as low as ₱190 (around $3). That’s a damn good value considering the game normally costs $9.99 ($595) in the United States and other global markets. Unfortunately, if you’re holding an iPhone, you won’t get to enjoy the same discount; this steal of a price is exclusive to Android devices.
We’ve previously written about how regional pricing occasionally makes certain premium games significantly more affordable here compared to the rest of the world. Recent mobile ports like Tomb Raider and Maneater immediately come to mind — and this is once again one of those lucky instances. That said, you should take advantage of this deal while it lasts.

In case you haven’t been keeping tabs on the indie gaming scene, Sea of Stars is a masterful turn-based RPG from Sabotage Studio. It became a massive hit by blending the nostalgia of classic 16-bit JRPGs with brilliant modern touches. The game didn’t just win Best Independent Game at The Game Awards 2023; it received widespread critical acclaim, securing top scores from major gaming outlets, including consistent 9/10s from GameSpot and Game Informer, to go along with a glowing consensus on Metacritic.
To jump in, you’ll need to clear up some space, as Sea of Star has a 3GB size requirement. But that storage goes directly into an incredibly feature-rich experience. To wit, Sabotage had to retool the game’s interface from the ground up to make the leap to our pockets. Boasting an exclusive mobile user interface with full touch control, the port also includes Google Play Games achievements, native compatibility with physical controllers if you prefer real buttons, and Cloud Save so you can seamlessly share your progress across different devices.

Unfortunately, the mobile version doesn’t include the newly released Throes of the Watchmaker DLC or the highly anticipated co-op mode. Right now, this port seems to be focused on adapting the core single-player campaign with those specialized touch controls. However, given Sabotage Studio’s stellar track record of post-launch support, it wouldn’t be surprising to see those extras eventually roll out in a future update.
Regardless, Sea of Stars delivers excellent bang for your buck. For just ₱190 ($3) — basically the cost of a tall Starbucks coffee — you’re getting a must-play RPG right on your smartphone with zero ads or microtransactions.
