OPPO has officially launched the Reno16 Series 5G in the Philippines, bringing three new smartphones that put photography, video, and AI-assisted creativity at the center of the lineup.

The range includes the OPPO Reno16 Pro 5G, the OPPO Reno16 5G, and the OPPO Reno16 F 5G. Prices start at ₱44,999 (about $729) for the Reno16 F 5G with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the Reno16 5G costs ₱59,999 ($973). The Reno16 Pro 5G tops the range at ₱74,999 ($1,217).

The Pro model is the most camera-heavy of the three. Its rear setup combines a 200-megapixel main camera with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with up to 3.5x optical zoom and 120x digital zoom. There’s also a 50-megapixel ultra-wide selfie camera, which should be useful for group shots when squeezing an entire barkada into the frame.

OPPO is pitching the Reno16 Series 5G as a sort of “pocket studio” for travel. One of the more interesting additions is the OPPO Bubble Mag E-Badge with Camera Remote View, which lets users preview and control the phone’s camera remotely. That means you can set up a group photo without leaving someone behind to hold the handset or repeatedly running back before the timer goes off.

DualCam 2.0 can capture footage from different perspectives at the same time, while StableCam’s 4K Auto Straighten Video is designed to keep moving footage steadier and correctly oriented. The combination is aimed squarely at the sort of travel clips that tend to end up on social feeds.

The smartphones also get AI-assisted creative tools. AI Remix Collage can turn photos and motion shots into collages, while other camera features are designed to make it easier to edit and dress up photos without reaching for another app.

The regular Reno16 5G keeps the 50-megapixel front camera but uses a triple 50-megapixel rear setup. It runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip and has a 6.32-inch 120Hz AMOLED display. This and the Pro pack 6,700mAh batteries with 80-watt wired charging.

The Reno16 F 5G stretches that battery to 7,000mAh and uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300-Energy processor. Its cameras include a 50-megapixel main sensor, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and 50-megapixel telephoto, plus a 50-megapixel front camera.

There are launch discounts, too. Until Sept. 17, walk-in customers at OPPO Concept Stores can get ₱3,000 ($49) off all three models. MY OPPO App users can get an additional ₱2,000 ($32) off the two Reno16 F 5G configurations through Aug. 31, subject to the required voucher and account.

Online buyers can also get ₱3,000 ($49) off through the OPPO Online Store, Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok, with additional platform-specific vouchers and freebies. Depending on where you buy, these include the OPPO Enco Buds3 Pro, a limited-edition OPPO x BABYMONSTER photocard set, a Tango Jet 10,000mAh power bank, and other accessories. Installment options of up to 0% interest are available through selected buy-now-pay-later services, while Home Credit and participating credit cards offer additional installment plans.

The OPPO Reno16 F 5G in Dream Purple with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is likewise an OPPO Online Store exclusive through Sept. 10.

Newly released!

OPPO is marking the launch with #FirstBarkadaGala as well. It’s a nationwide travel campaign in partnership with the Department of Tourism that encourages Filipinos to explore destinations around the country with their friends and share their trips online. As part of the activity, participants can get a chance to win an all-expenses-paid barkada trip worth ₱200,000 ($3,244), plus Reno16 loaner units to document the experience. The campaign covers everything from road trips and food trips to discovering lesser-known destinations around the Philippines.

And if the phone’s AI tools are more interesting to you than the hardware alone, the company is running a #FandomBarkada AI Remix Collage contest. Participants can create fan art featuring themselves or their barkada, the OPPO Reno16 Series 5G, and a BABYMONSTER member, then post it publicly on Facebook, TikTok, or X with the required hashtags and their favorite BABYMONSTER song. Entries must also be submitted through the contest form.

Fifty winners will receive OPPO x BABYMONSTER merchandise, while four grand winners will get tickets to the BABYMONSTER Global Fan Meet Up in Jakarta.
