POCO is moving fast this year. The Xiaomi sub-brand has confirmed that the POCO F9 Series will make its global debut on Sept. 1, with the company positioning its latest flagships squarely around performance.
The launch will introduce the POCO F9 Ultra and POCO F9 Pro, and POCO has already confirmed the silicon powering both smartphones. The F9 Ultra gets Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 5G processor, while the Pro model uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series (SM8850-1-AB). POCO is already talking up the Ultra’s performance, claiming a score of 4,165,108 on Antutu.

For us in the Philippines, the F9 Series also marks a notably earlier return to POCO’s flagship cycle. We at REVU Philippines attended the POCO F8 Series international launch in Bali, Indonesia, on Nov. 26, 2025. This time, the company is pulling the curtain back much sooner, giving its newest F lineup a head start as we head into the final stretch of the year.
The POCO F9 Ultra is shaping up to be more than a performance showcase, with an 8,050mAh battery and a dedicated subwoofer. That combination suggests POCO is putting just as much emphasis on endurance and multimedia as it is on raw power.
Design-wise, POCO has already given us a look at both phones. The Ultra version appears in a deep cherry finish with a textured glass-fiber back, while the Pro gets an Aurora Green option with a back panel that can glow after exposure to light. It is an unusual touch for a performance-focused phone, and one that gives the unit a little more personality than the typical slab.

POCO has also been unusually generous with early details on the hardware. Beyond the processors, the F9 Ultra is expected to pack an 8,050mAh battery and 100-watt wired charging, while the F9 Pro is tipped to feature a 6,330mAh cell. Both variants are expected to feature high-refresh-rate displays, with the latter reportedly reaching 185Hz.
The camera setup could be another area where the two models diverge. Reports point to a 50-megapixel main camera and 3x telephoto on the POCO F9 Pro, while the POCO F9 Ultra is expected to add a 50-megapixel ultra-wide and a longer-range 5x telephoto.
There is still plenty the brand has yet to reveal, including official Philippine prices and availability. But the company has already made its priorities clear: The F9 Series is going after flagship-level performance without losing the aggressive hardware approach that has defined the F Series. And with the global launch arriving on Sept. 1, we won’t have to wait much longer to see whether POCO can turn those big numbers into an equally compelling everyday phone.
