Running out of battery at the worst possible moment is a modern-day headache. Enter realme‘s latest gambit to keep you untethered from the wall outlet: the realme 16T 5G.
The company just dropped a teaser for its latest smartphone ahead of its official Philippine launch on Aug. 28, and it is leaning hard into endurance, durability, and a battery pack that rivals some power banks.
If you’re the type to jump the gun on a new release before seeing the final price tag, realme Philippines is running a blind preorder promo from Aug. 17 to Aug. 27. Reserve a unit now and claim it on the first selling day, Sept. 4, to score ₱8,097 (roughly $131) worth of freebies and discounts. Here is what you get for taking the leap:
* A free TechLife Bluetooth Speaker 3
* A free Laifen SE Lite Hair Dryer
* A Privilege Card (includes a six-month extended warranty and six-month screen damage protection)
* An outright ₱2,000 ($32) discount off the official retail price
The realme 16T 5G is built around one particularly big number: 8,000mAh. That is a large amount of juice for a standard smartphone. But simply throwing a big battery into a chassis isn’t enough; batteries inevitably degrade. To address this, realme is backing the 16T with a seven-year Battery Health Guarantee.
According to the OPPO sub-brand, this longevity is driven by its “Titan AI Deep Power” and “Extended Use Care” features — software optimizations designed to actively slow down chemical wear and tear over time.
When you do finally run out of power, the phone supports 45-watt SUPERVOOC charging. More interestingly, the realme 16T 5G includes Bypass Charge, which routes power directly to the motherboard to keep the device cool during heavy gaming while plugged in. It also features Reverse Charge, letting the unit double as an actual power bank to top up your wireless earbuds or a friend’s dying phone.

The durability claims don’t stop at the battery cell. The realme 16T 5G sports an IP69 Pro rating, so it can survive high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, alongside Military-Grade Shock Resistance. Everyday drops, coffee spills, and dust exposure shouldn’t be an issue here.
Under the hood, realme is promising six years of “Guaranteed Smooth Performance,” aided by an AI Boost feature to prevent the UI from feeling sluggish a few years down the line.
While realme Philippines is still keeping the official local price under wraps, we can look at neighboring markets to get a solid estimate of what it will cost.
In Malaysia, the realme 16T 5G launched with an official price tag of RM 1,399 (₱21,276 or $344). In India, on the other hand, the base 6GB/128GB model initially debuted at Rs 29,999 (₱19,367 or $313). However, due to rising memory costs across the tech industry, the device recently received a Rs 1,000 (₱646 or $10) price hike in the Indian market, bringing its starting price up to Rs 32,999 (₱21,304 or $345).
We will know the final details when the smartphone officially debuts on Aug. 28.
