OPPO has finally put a date on the OPPO Find X10 Series. The company’s next flagship phones will launch Sept. 22 in China, and they won’t be coming alone: The Watch S2 and Enco X4 are also joining the event.

That’s a big hardware day for OPPO. But for us, there’s another reason to pay attention: The OPPO Find X9 Ultra was already very, very good. We said as much in our review back in May, particularly when it came to the cameras. The phone didn’t just have an impressive spec sheet; its 200-megapixel main and telephoto cameras actually delivered the goods. Its long-range shooting was especially impressive, making the X9 Ultra one of those phones that’s genuinely fun to bring out when there’s a good image waiting to be taken.

Which makes the Find X10 Series interesting for a slightly different reason: OPPO now has to beat itself.

There’s still plenty we don’t know about the smartphones themselves. What we do know is enough to suggest OPPO isn’t playing it safe. The Find X10 and higher-end Find X10 Pro Max are expected to put cameras front and center once again. Reports point to two 200-megapixel cameras on the base model, including the main and telephoto shooters, while the Pro Max could take things to another level with three 200-megapixel cameras.

On paper, that’s the sort of stuff that makes for an easy headline. But after using the Find X9 Ultra, we’re more interested in what OPPO does with all those pixels.

The X9 Ultra showed that megapixels aren’t necessarily the interesting part. What mattered was how the cameras worked together. The main camera could capture plenty of detail, while the telephoto cameras made longer shots useful instead of something you’d only try for fun. That’s a much higher bar for the Find X10 to clear than simply adding another impressive number to the spec sheet.

OPPO is also changing up the look. Official images show a redesigned camera module inspired by the number 10, giving the Find X10 Series a visual identity that’s different from the previous generation. The OPPO Find X10E, meanwhile, is expected to use a more conventional rectangular camera arrangement.

The smartphones are expected to come in a handful of finishes, including Moon White, Warm Orange, Ice Blue, and Light Titanium, although the exact colors available will depend on the model and market.

Then there’s the battery. The standard Find X10 is reportedly packing an 8,000mAh battery, which would be enormous for a mainstream flagship. OPPO is also said to be promising long-term battery health, with the cell retaining its performance over more than five years of regular use. That’s potentially a more meaningful upgrade than another bump in benchmark scores. A phone with this kind of camera hardware can be demanding, particularly when you’re shooting at high resolution, recording video, or spending a long afternoon taking photos. More battery capacity could give the OPPO Find X10 some welcome breathing room.

Of course, battery size isn’t the whole story. Efficiency, charging speeds, and thermal management matter just as much. We’ll have to wait for actual hands-on time before knowing whether that 8,000mAh figure translates into a better experience.

The display is getting some attention, too. The OPPO Find X10 is expected to use a new OLED panel developed with Tianma, with improvements aimed at low-brightness viewing and blue-light reduction. More visibly, the brand is pushing the bezels down to a reported 0.99mm on all four sides. It’s not the kind of upgrade you’ll appreciate in a benchmark chart. You will, however, notice a screen that seems to stretch almost all the way to the edges of the smartphone.

Performance is another area where OPPO appears to be differentiating its models. Pre-release benchmark listings point to the Find X10 using a MediaTek processor believed to be the Dimensity 9500, while the Pro Max has appeared with what is believed to be the Dimensity 9600 Pro. Both have reportedly been spotted with as much as 16GB of RAM. Those details should still be treated as pre-launch information, not gospel.

And then there are the other two products making their debut. The OPPO Watch S2 and OPPO Enco X4 will launch alongside the Find X10 Series, turning what could have been a phone announcement into a broader hardware event. OPPO hasn’t revealed every detail for every market yet, so we’re interested in what the company says about pricing, availability, and ecosystem features for the Philippines. Because ultimately, that’s where this gets interesting.

The Find X10 Series isn’t arriving in a vacuum; it has to give us a reason to put down the Find X9 Ultra we already loved. Maybe that’s better cameras. Maybe it’s the huge battery. Maybe it’s a smarter camera experience, better processing, improved thermals, or simply a more polished phone from top to bottom. We’ll find out on Sept. 22 when the new flagship, Watch S2, and Enco X4 officially take the stage.
