Smartphone launches are often a predictable barrage of megapixel counts, processor clock speeds, and benchmarking charts. But TECNO took a decidedly different route for the CAMON Slim 5G’s Philippine debut. It transformed a standard tech presentation into a visual story that felt like stepping straight into a fashion editorial.

TECNO is positioning the slim imaging phone for people whose days rarely fit into a single role. The 8GB/256GB variant is priced at ₱27,999 (roughly $448) across online and offline stores, while the 8GB/128GB version costs ₱24,999 (around $400) exclusively on TikTok Shop.

Those who preorder by Oct. 15 secure a bundle valued at ₱10,000 ($160). This includes 256GB of cloud storage for three years, a 60-day free replacement warranty, a three-month Google One AI Plus 2TB trial, and the new TECNO MagBadge. Early buyers are also entered into a raffle with a ₱2 million ($32,000) prize pool, including a ₱1 million ($16,000) grand prize.

Time to preorder?

During the preorder period, the TECNO CAMON Slim 5G is available in Burgundy Red, Matisse Black, and Rebel Pink. A 3D White colorway called Gossamer White is scheduled to arrive in November.

The TECNO MagBadge is also sold separately for ₱5,999 (about $96). The wearable magnetic accessory has a 1.73-inch OLED display. It acts as a remote shutter and a rear-camera preview screen, allowing you to frame shots using the phone’s primary cameras from up to 10 meters away.

Our short video highlighting the TECNO CAMON Slim 5G (and the TECNO MagBadge)

As for the phone itself, the TECNO CAMON Slim 5G relies on a MediaTek Dimensity 7300e 5G chipset and a 6,000mAh battery tucked inside an ultra-thin 6.39mm chassis. For people moving between work, commutes, coffee shops, and late-night flights, TECNO says the 50-megapixel main shooter with a Sony LYTIA 700C sensor, optical image stabilization, and Super-Zoom FlashSnap is designed for low-light shooting and on-the-go vlogging.

Rather than leaving those specifications on the spec sheet, TECNO put them in the context of everyday life. The event showcased 15 modern Filipinas — from solo working mothers to Miss World 2013 Megan Young. They brought the CAMON Slim 5G’s Burgundy Red hue to life on the LED-lit runway through structured, translucent, and fluid modern Filipiniana pieces. It was a practical way to demonstrate that a smartphone is no longer just a utility; it’s a wearable piece of our daily wardrobe. The company is extending the idea through an upcoming portrait collaboration with artist Angélica Dass, which will explore the diskarte of working mothers.
