Huawei has quietly released the Y5 Lite 2018 in the Philippines with an official sticker price of P5,490 (around $104). And yes, it’s the most affordable option from the world’s second-largest smartphone vendor.

And if you want to get the Y5 Lite at a much lower price, you better be quick: For a limited time, Huawei’s latest handset has been reduced to P4,490 ($85) exclusively on Lazada Philippines. The sale starts today, December 10th, and ends on December 12. You can even apply Huawei’s P50 ($1) off voucher to further lower the price to P4,440 ($84).

In case you missed the product announcement, the Huawei Y5 Lite 2018 sports a 5.45-inch screen that runs at 1,440 x 720 resolution and an aspect ratio of 18:9. It’s one of the lowest-priced smartphones in the local market to get a trendy, taller display.

The processor is surprisingly from MediaTek, a quad-core unit paired with 1GB RAM and 16GB storage. Keeping the lights on is a 3,020mAh battery, which, given the specs, should last you an entire day on a single charge. The single cameras on the front and back are 5 and 8 megapixels, respectively.

Understandably, most of the phone’s specs do not jump at you, but at least it’s running the Go version of Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

Android Go is a lighter operating system built for lesser hardware. It’s designed to run smoothly and efficiently on devices with 1GB RAM and limited storage space, so the Y5 Lite should be fine with casual smartphone tasks.
