The year isn’t over for Cherry Mobile, as the company today announced the Flare S Play, yet another addition to its best-selling Flare smartphone series.

This time around, the focus seems to be more on connectivity and entertainment than anything else, judging from what has been revealed so far; the phone’s standout features include an LTE-capable processor backed by 2GB of RAM and a built-in digital TV tuner with a retractable antenna.

That being said, the Flare S Play should prove to be a popular option among heavy commuters who can’t seem to get enough of local programming. The rest of the phone’s innards isn’t too shabby, either — certainly not in the context of a sub-P5,000 handset.

The Cherry Mobile Flare S Play will retail for P4,999 when it hits stores.
