Anker has announced its next-generation true wireless earbuds in global markets, and the Philippines is getting them right out of the gate.
Meet the soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max and soundcore Liberty 5 Pro, two flagship devices aiming to disrupt the premium audio space with on-device AI. Both models ship with charging cases that feature integrated touchscreen displays, giving you on-the-fly control over your settings without needing to pull out your smartphone.
Locally, the top-tier soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max carries a suggested retail price of ₱12,995 (around $211), while the standard soundcore Liberty 5 Pro comes in at a more aggressive ₱9,995 ($163). These two hit shelves starting today, May 23, and are available in four colorways — Pearl Blue, Midnight Black, Pearl White, and Rose Gold.
For early adopters, Anker is throwing in an extended warranty of up to 24 months for purchases made between May 23 and June 23 at physical Anker stores nationwide. The company will also be rolling out to authorized dealers and online storefronts, including Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop via soundcore Philippines and Anker Global, soon.
The two earbuds were officially introduced in the Philippines at the local Anker Day event in Makati City. We’re currently using the soundcore Liberty 5 Pro
The ‘Thus AI’ difference
The silicon is the main attraction here. The soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Series is Anker’s first wearables to ship with the proprietary Thus AI chip, a platform the brand recently debuted at Anker Day in New York on May 21.
As is tradition with major audio launches, there’s a mountain of marketing jargon surrounding this new architecture. But the short version? It’s a platform responsible for aggressive noise cancellation and reliable voice isolation in loud environments. Thus AI brings voice-command support to the table, too. You get 20 different hands-free commands to control playback and perform tasks, with a claimed blazing-fast response time of less than a second.
Anker has gatekept a few exclusive features to distinguish the top-shelf variant. Most notably, the soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max features a built-in AI Note-Taker function for meetings and calls. A quick double-tap on the case instantly starts offline recording, storing up to 12 hours of audio directly on the device — even if your phone isn’t in the room. Once ready, the case sends the audio to the soundcore app, which processes the file to generate full-text transcripts, identify individual speakers, and extract key action items.
Record-breaking voice isolation
Both models are packed with hardware to back up the software, combining eight MEMS microphones and two specialized bone conduction sensors. This setup is designed to isolate your voice from environmental chaos in real time. In fact, Anker is so confident in this tech that the company is touting it as revolutionary — a claim officially backed by a Guinness World Record for the “Highest speech quality score (Generalized Mean Opinion Score) for TWS earbuds” in objective testing.
The ANC is equally ambitious. Anker says the Active Noise Cancellation efficiency on these new buds is twice as potent as the older soundcore Liberty 4 Pro. This is driven by Adaptive ANC 4.0, an intelligent platform that analyzes surrounding sound data at 384,000 times per second.
Paired with this is HearID 5.0, an AI-driven personalization suite that builds a custom hearing profile based on your specific listening habits and sensitivity. Audiophiles will also appreciate the AI Sound Enhancement, a restoration tech that Anker says can compensate for up to 65% of the acoustic detail typically lost to standard Bluetooth compression.
Battery and connectivity
On the battery front, the soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max and soundcore Liberty 5 Pro are rated for a solid 6.5 hours of playback on a single charge with ANC toggled on. Throw the charging case into the mix, and you’re looking at a total of 28 hours.
Rounding out the spec sheet, the two units are perfectly capable gym companions with an IP55 dust and water resistance rating. They also support Bluetooth multi-point connectivity and play nice with the latest Bluetooth 6.1 standard, alongside native support for Apple Find My and Google Fast Pair.
