Samsung‘s foldable lineup just got a lot more crowded, and significantly more expensive at the top end. The company wrapped up its July 2026 Galaxy Unpacked event by officially launching a trio of flexible devices: the ultra-premium Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, the standard Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, and the clamshell Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8, alongside a fresh batch of wearables.

The strategy this year is clear. Instead of incremental updates, the South Korean manufacturer is throwing significant camera hardware and a redesigned display structure at the foldable segment to silence long-standing complaints about screen creases and subpar low-light optics.

Here is the complete local price matrix for every storage tier, how the preorder promos work, and the silicon powering this generation.

Philippine pricing, preorders, and availability

Preorders are officially live in the Philippines starting today, July 22, matching the global rollout.

Unlike previous years where you only had one or two configurations to choose from, Samsung is offering full storage tiers across the board — spanning all the way up to a 1TB option for power users on both Fold models.

  • Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra
    • 256GB: ₱123,990
    • 512GB: ₱137,990
    • 1TB: ₱165,990
  • Galaxy Z Fold8
    • 256GB: ₱109,990
    • 512GB: ₱123,990
    • 1TB: ₱151,990
  • Galaxy Z Flip8
    • 256GB: ₱77,990
    • 512GB: ₱91,990

Early adopters who registered on Samsung’s local Galaxy Unpacked page between July 8 and July 22 can claim a ₱2,000 e-voucher. This credit can be applied toward select Galaxy wearables and accessories — provided you hit a minimum spend of ₱4,000 — when checking out through the Samsung Online Store or the Shop app. Retail availability across authorized physical stores nationwide will follow once the pre-purchase window closes.

The technical jump: Cameras and Flex Titanium

The biggest shift across the entire series is structural. Samsung has introduced a new Flex Titanium display architecture. By embedding a titanium-alloy support plate and dual-layer Ultra Thin Glass or UTG beneath the flexible OLED panel, the screen is vastly more rigid. This translates to a near-invisible crease and a much more decisive, snapping feel from the hinge mechanism. All three models also launch with an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance.

Under the hood, the foldables are powered by the customized Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. Built on a 3nm process, this chipset provides the computational overhead needed to drive the high-refresh-rate displays and the heavy on-device generative AI tasks integrated into One UI 8.5.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra: The camera heavyweight

The Fold8 Ultra is Samsung’s answer to anyone who felt foldable cameras lagged behind standard slab flagships. It sports a large 8-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X inner display and a 6.5-inch cover screen, both capable of shifting dynamically from 1Hz to 120Hz to preserve battery life.

The optics are the main event, though. The Ultra adopts a staggering 200-megapixel main wide sensor (1/1.3-inch) with optical image stabilization. The South Korean company didn’t stop there; it upgraded the ultra-wide lens to a high-resolution 50-megapixel sensor and retained a dedicated 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x true optical zoom. It is a huge optical array backed by a 5,000mAh battery and up to 16GB of RAM.

Specs

  • Main display: 8.0-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X, 120Hz refresh rate
  • Cover display: 6.5-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X, 120Hz refresh rate
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy (3nm)
  • RAM/storage: 12GB or 16GB RAM / 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB storage
  • Cameras (rear): 200MP main (OIS), 50MP ultrawide, 10MP telephoto (3x optical zoom)
  • Cameras (front): 10MP cover, 10MP under-display (inner)
  • Battery and charging: 5,000mAh with 45W wired charging
  • OS: Android (One UI 8.5)
  • Build: Flex Titanium display tech, Armor Aluminum frame, IP48 dust and water resistance

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8: The standard flagship gets a wide makeover

The standard Galaxy Z Fold8 adopts a completely different form factor this year. While the Ultra sticks to the taller, narrow design we are used to, the base Fold8 ditches it for a shorter, wider, and much stouter footprint.

Unfolding the device reveals a 7.6-inch inner screen with a squarer 4:3 aspect ratio, which is specifically optimized to give you more horizontal space for media consumption, reading, and split-screen multitasking without rotating the unit. The 5.5-inch cover display also benefits from this shift; it is wider, making it feel much more like holding and typing on a traditional smartphone when closed. On top of that, Samsung managed to shave the weight down to just 201 grams, making it the brand’s lightest book-style foldable to date.

It still packs a serious punch photographically, featuring a dual 50-megapixel setup for both the main wide and ultra-wide cameras, alongside a 10-megapixel telephoto shooter. It relies on a 4,800mAh cell to keep the lights on and shares the same top-tier silicon and Flex Titanium display tech as the Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8: The refined clamshell

The Flip8 remains the lifestyle option, but the internal hardware is entirely flagship-grade. It features a large 6.9-inch main foldable screen and an expanded 4.1-inch external cover screen, both using 120Hz LTPO AMOLED technology.

For optics, the Flip8 uses a 50-megapixel main sensor paired with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, turning the cover screen into a high-resolution viewfinder for vlogging and selfies. It is powered by a 4,300mAh battery and ships with 12GB of RAM as standard.
