While the price hasn’t been announced yet, it is expected to be revealed ahead of its October preorder window. For context on where this might sit, most of Yashica’s current digital lineup retails for under roughly ₱18,740 ($300), with some entry-level models positioned below ₱6,247 ($100), while its most expensive offering tops out at around ₱26,174 ($419). According to photography outlets, it retains the original’s slim, rectangular shape and large knurled control dial. The original 1959 model was a quirky subminiature camera that shot tiny 10x14mm negatives, but its 2026 reincarnation swaps film for a 12-megapixel sensor capable of capturing both photos and video. Yashica is leaning heavily into the “everyday carry” lifestyle angle here, framing the Y16 as an intentional, stylish pocket companion rather than a high-fidelity mirrorless replacement.
