HONOR has been steadily carving out a niche in the Philippines with models built to take a beating, and its latest release, the HONOR 600S, pushes that formula further. Officially launched in the country, the midrange phone pairs an 8,100mAh battery with a rugged build that seems designed for people who would rather not treat their smartphone like a fragile piece of glass.

First, the part that matters to your wallet. The HONOR 600S carries a regular price of ₱22,999 (roughly $367), but early-bird buyers can get the 8GB/256GB configuration for ₱19,999 ($319). There’s also a 6GB/128GB online-exclusive model that normally sells for ₱18,999 ($303), with early-bird offers bringing it down to as low as ₱15,799 ($252).

The headline feature is, of course, that 8,100mAh battery. For anyone spending consecutive days covering technology launches or field-testing cameras from morning through the evening, being able to leave the bulky GaN wall charger and heavy power bank behind sounds pretty appealing. HONOR says the battery is designed to retain its performance for up to six years and can operate in temperatures ranging from -30°C to 50°C.

There’s the physical durability, too. The HONOR 600S uses the company’s Cushioning and Fall Protection Architecture, which earned an SGS 5-Star All-Round Drop Resistance rating for surviving drops of up to 2.5 meters. It’s also rated IP68, IP69, and IP69K, giving it protection against dust, submersion, and high-pressure water jets. A wet-hand touch enhancement is thrown in, so a little rain shouldn’t stop you from scrolling through your feeds.
