Just hours before today’s launch of Monster Hunter: Outlanders and Saints Row 3, a surprise release of Planet of Lana 2: Children of the Leaf hit the Google Play Store. We had no idea a sequel was coming so fast, considering the mobile port of the first game came out last December.

Playdigious published the original game on mobile. This time, Snapbreak takes charge. The latter has a good track record of bringing PC and console games like Discounty and Silt to touchscreen devices.

A pre-release version is live on Android right now, and iOS preorders are on the way. You can download the opening chapter for free to see if the game fits your style and plays well on a phone screen. If you want the full experience, unlocking it costs ₱635 (around $10) in the Philippines. That sits a bit higher than the Steam version, which goes for ₱615 ($9) right now. For context, the global price is $8.99.

Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf hit PC and consoles back in March 2026. The sequel picks up two years after the first story on planet Novo. An older, more agile Lana pairs up with her companion Mui on a quest to find three ingredients to save a sick child while standing up to a faction tearing the land apart for resources.

The announcement

The game brings fresh movement mechanics, with Lana now wall-jumping, dashing, sliding, and swimming through deep water. At the same time, Mui gains the power to take control of creatures from afar — using ink fish to throw down smokescreens or guiding small critters to burn away spiderwebs — and hack into machines.

Expect a tight playthrough here, though. According to Steam, the main story takes around six hours to complete, while a completionist run might take about seven hours. That said, Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf sounds like a good time if you want to play a story-driven adventure this weekend. It currently holds a “Very Positive” rating across 945 Steam reviews, along with favorable Metacritic scores.
