The golden age of mobile gaming is upon us. Between heavyweight console ports — like Tomb Raider, Monster Hunter Rise, and Red Dead Redemption — making their way to our phones, and the rise of PC emulators like the promising DroidDeck project, which aims to bring a native Steam client right to your pocket, mobile gamers have been eating incredibly well this year.
But 2026 isn’t done delivering surprises. Just when our backlog felt unmanageable, we got word that one of last year’s best PC and console games is making the jump to touchscreens.
Right ahead of the game’s first anniversary, developer AdHoc revealed today, Oct. 23, that its superhero workplace dramedy Dispatch will hit Android and iOS on Dec. 9. Even better, the first four episodes, which make up roughly half of the core narrative, will be entirely free to play. Unlocking the full season will cost $19.99, or roughly ₱1,273, though regional pricing will vary.
To make the transition from a controller to a touchscreen seamless, the studio completely overhauled the interface. You can now play the entire story one-handed in a vertical orientation.
If you somehow missed the hype train when Dispatch originally launched on PC and PlayStation 5 in October 2025, here’s a quick refresher. The adventure hooked over five million players in its first year alone, locking down an absurd 97% positive rating across over 176,000 Steam reviews and an 87 on Metacritic. It even scooped up a handful of BAFTA awards this year.
Reveal trailer for the mobile version of Dispatch
Dispatch puts you in the shoes of Robert Robertson III (yes, you read right), formerly known as the armored vigilante Mecha Man. After his suit gets trashed and his bank account dries up, Robertson grabs a desk job at the Superhero Dispatch Network. Rather than throwing punches, you manage the superhuman resources at your disposal to fight crime, which sounds reasonable, except your squad is strictly composed of former supervillains and screw-ups.
You’re constantly choosing who to send on distress calls, mediating chaotic conflicts between your subordinates, and forging alliances with sketchy colleagues. The real challenge, though, is keeping your own team from murdering each other in the breakroom. Every single call you make ripples through the narrative. Both major turning points and seemingly minor dialogue options shape a highly branching storyline with multiple distinct endings. You’ll need a few extra playthroughs to see how every scenario unfolds.
Thanks to its razor-sharp writing, top-tier voice acting, and satisfying strategic layers, Dispatch kept us glued to our screens for days. Getting to replay that whole saga on your smartphone over a morning coffee is the perfect excuse to dive right back in. We’ll definitely be counting down the days until Dec. 9.
