IT seems that Taiwan’s top international brand is reviving its budget ZenFone Go line by launching the ASUS ZenFone 3 Go in March — if we are to believe this leak reported by GSMArena.

Gone is the hefty, arching back; in its place is a flat cover that may be made of brushed metal finish. Likewise gone is the horizontally placed main camera; you will now find it on the upper left side of the back cover — a design language implemented by smartphone companies like OPPO and Vivo.

The ZenFone 3 Go also seems to be gunning for the selfie crowd — the market targeted by, again, OPPO and Vivo — as ASUS highlights the handset’s beautification mode and soft LED flash “for brighter selfies.”

Based on the report, other features of the device include a 13-megapixel main camera with 1.4μm pixel size, a 5-inch 720p screen, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 chipset, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. And you’ll be able to buy it for 150 euros (approximately P8,000 or $160).

Hmm, we’re hoping that the processor listed in the leak is wrong and what we are really going to see is a Snapdragon 430 chipset. Because if it isn’t, then the ASUS ZenFone 3 Go may just be competing with the likes of the Snapdragon 410-toting Vivo Y51, which is priced at just P5,990 in the Philippines.
