THIS is it! Almost two months since we reported that HTC is coming back to the Philippines, we finally have a date of the Taiwanese manufacturer’s official re-entry to the country.

This lunchtime, we were alerted to its event on August 2. That’s just about two weeks away from now, so if you’re planning to get a smartphone soon, we suggest that you hold off till you see what HTC has to offer.

HTC U11 Philippines launch invite to Revu

The invitation we got from HTC

Not that we have no idea what devices it is launching here. We know that the HTC U11, which currently has the highest-rated smartphone camera on independent camera-benchmarking outfit DxOMark, will be sold in the Philippines, for sure.

We are also expecting the HTC U Ultra, U Play, and Desire 10 Pro. And if we are to believe the page that we stumbled upon on Lazada Philippines on July 13, we may be seeing the HTC Desire 830 budget handset as well.

Listed as “in stock soon” on the online store are the following phones and their corresponding prices:

  1. HTC U11: priced at P36,990 (roughly $731);
  2. HTC U Ultra: P26,990 ($533);
  3. HTC U Play: P18,990 ($375);
  4. HTC Desire 10 Pro: P13,990 ($276); and
  5. HTC Desire 830: P8,990 ($177).

Let’s see if that page is for real.

We will be in China for a smartphone factory tour from August 2 to 4, but don’t worry, HTC’s business development manager for the Philippines will join us on #RevuLive, our Facebook Live show session, at 3 p.m. on August 7. We’ll show you all the smartphones that HTC will offer in the country. See you on our Facebook page then!
