HMD Global is tipped to launch the Nokia 8 soon, though several details, including pricing, have already emerged via online sources. Today’s leaked images give us our best look yet at the upcoming Android flagship.

The latest photos show a working Nokia 8 in gold/copper, which could very well be a pre-production unit. The screen appears to be working fine, and just below the display, you’ll find a fingerprint reader and two capacitive navigation buttons.

Actually, the whole ensemble resembles the front panel of the Nokia 6, which has been announced for the Philippines recently. Round the back, you get a pair of cameras and the company branding gracing the Nokia 8’s glossy — and possibly plasticky — surface.

The photos also reveal a standard headphone jack and a USB Type-C connector placed on the bottom of the phone. Interestingly enough, the Zeiss branding is nowhere to be found, though the omission may have been deliberate on the part of HMD Global, given that this is likely a prototype.

Previous leaks hinted at the inclusion of optics from Zeiss, a German brand responsible for producing some of the finest lenses on the market. It was reported this month that HMD Global and Zeiss have inked a long-term partnership for future Nokia handsets.

It has been speculated that the Nokia 8 will use a top-shelf Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 4GB or 6GB of RAM, as well as a 5.3-inch, 1440p resolution display. Besides gold/copper, color variants should include gold/blue, blue, and steel. Pricing will be set between 550 and 600 euros (around P32,500 and P35,500 or $640 and $770).

In related news, the Nokia 8 was spotted briefly on HMD’s official Chinese site, suggesting an imminent launch. The web page has since been taken down; nevertheless, it confirms the existence of the premium device.
