Apple iPhone 6s battery-replacement program now in PH

FINALLY. About two months after the free Apple iPhone 6s battery-replacement program was announced in the U.S., it is now being offered to customers based in the Philippines. Power Mac Center, an Apple authorized service center, has divulged the good news on its Facebook page.

The program isn’t for all iPhone 6s owners; it only applies to those whose iDevices unexpectedly shut down with still 30 percent battery power left. This problem had been affecting users in the U.S. and had san diego iphone repair companies scrambling to find a solution until Apple stepped in. According to Apple, only a “very small number of iPhone 6s units” are affected by the issue — and those are within a limited serial-number range that were made between September and October in 2015.

How would you know if your 6s is eligible for the program? It’s simple. Just visit this page, select Philippines, and enter your handset’s serial number (engraved on the back, or you can go to Settings > General > About).

If it turns out that you can avail yourself of a free battery replacement, call Power Mac Center’s customer-service team at +632 725.4762 or email the group at serviceupdate@powermaccenter.com immediately.

If your iPhone 6s is eligible for Apple’s battery-replacement program, call or email Power Mac Center’s customer-service team immediately.

Before you bring your Apple iPhone 6s to the service center, remember to back up your data to iTunes or iCloud first. You also have to turn off Find My iPhone and erase data and settings (Settings > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings).

What if you bought your device from a store abroad? Apple says it “may restrict or limit repair to the original country of purchase,” but it doesn’t hurt to contact Power Mac Center and verify if you can still have your battery replaced without charge. We have emailed the company, too, so we’ll update this article as soon as we get a reply from the team.

Now, if you have already paid for a battery repair or replacement on an eligible iPhone 6s, don’t worry because you can request for a refund.
