We’re just a few months away from an expected OnePlus phone launch. The OnePlus 3 and 5 were announced in June 2016 and 2017, respectively, so it’s likely that the company will unveil a new one — called the OnePlus 6, apparently — in about three months.

There have been a lot of leaks of the device. The rumor mill says that the OnePlus 6 will feature a 6.2-inch nearly borderless screen with 1080 x 2280 resolution; 16- and 5-megapixel rear cameras; a 16-megapixel front shooter; a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor; and a 3,400mAh battery.

As with most other flagship smartphones, it will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and either 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB of expandable storage. And it will ship with a customized Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

However, the latest one might upset you… at first. Below is a leaked image that lists the flagship phones of Apple, Samsung, Huawei, and OnePlus. Take note that they’re the models with the highest memory.

OnePlus 6 256GB variant alleged price on Revu Philippines

Leak showing the alleged price of the OnePlus 6 256GB variant

At first glance, you’d be disappointed by the alleged OnePlus 6 price of $749. That’s about P39,068 in Philippine pesos, and it’s still high for a OnePlus unit even though the version shown is the one with 256GB of internal storage.

Until you see that the real U.S. price of the iPhone X and the one in the image do not match. Add to this the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S9+ with 256GB space is not available in the States. We checked other Apple sites and found that the closest iPhone X price match listed there is the one on the Canadian site. The highest-end variant costs CA$1,529 (P61,999).

Now, if we convert CA$749 to our currency, we’d end up with P30,371. Not bad for a phone with that much capacity, yes? And that’s more in line with the prices of the OnePlus 5T. Recall that the 64GB and 128GB models of the 5T are sold at Beyond the Box and Digital Walker stores for P26,990 (about $516) and P30,990 ($592), respectively.

Then again, as with other leaks, let us all take this one with a grain of salt. We’re sure this won’t be the end of it.
