Remember the ASUS ZenFone Live L1, the company’s first Android Go smartphone that launched in May? Apparently, it’s headed to the Philippines sometime later this month.

ASUS Philippines today posted a teaser video on social media, and in the caption, it read, “Watch out for the all-new #ZenFoneLiveL1, coming soon to your nearest ASUS and ZenFone Stores and Kiosks nationwide!”

Here’s the thing, though: It’s possible that when it arrives here, the ZenFone Live L1 will run ASUS’ own Zen UI software layered on top of of Android Oreo, instead of stock Android.

Why do we say this? Well, back when the company first announced the device, it also revealed that the ASUS ZenFone Live L1 will come in two different variants — one with Android Oreo (Go Edition) and 1GB of RAM and another with Zen UI and 2GB or 3GB of RAM. The latter is slated for release in Southeast Asia, according to the company.

The silver lining to this, obviously, is that the Philippines could get the higher-specced version, to go along with a 5.45-inch LCD display with a 1,440 x 720 resolution and a taller 18:9 aspect ratio.

ASUS has also outfitted the new ZenFone Live with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor and a 3,000mAh battery. The cameras are 13 and 5 megapixels on the rear and front, respectively. It also gets face unlock using the front-facing camera in lieu of a fingerprint sensor.

In Indonesia, the variant with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage is priced at IDR 1,399,000 (roughly P5,198 or $97), while the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage model costs IDR 1,699,000 (P6,313 or $118). Local pricing is yet to be disclosed, but the phone should be available in black, blue, gold, and rose gold colors.

In addition to launching the ASUS ZenFone Live L1 in the country, the company will soon open the ASUS and Republic of Gamers or ROG online stores on Shopee Philippines. The stores will carry the brand’s entire product range, which includes smartphones, notebooks, gaming laptops, and other devices.
