There’s no better time to buy the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro than today. Huawei Philippines has just slashed the prices of its flagship smartphones.

Originally priced at P34,990 (roughly $658), the P20 is now selling for P30,990 ($583), just P5,000 ($34) more than the recently launched Huawei Nova 3. The P20 Pro, on the other hand, now costs P40,990 ($771) instead of P44,990 ($846).

The price drop comes on the heels of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 announcement. The Korean manufacturer’s latest Note device will go on sale here for P55,990 ($1,053). That’s for the model with 128GB storage. The 512GB variant obviously costs more, fetching a price of P75,990 ($1,429).

There’s a big disparity between the respective prices of the smartphones. Huawei seems to be really undercutting Samsung, giving those who are eyeing the Note 9 a possible reason to look away and perhaps check out the P20 series. At the same time, it could also be in preparation for the unveiling of the Huawei Mate 20 series.

Launched in the Philippines in April, the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro boast cameras co-developed with German camera and optics manufacturer Leica. On camera-ratings site DxOMark, the P20 sits in third place while the Pro version has not been knocked off from the top just yet.
