The successor to the Vivo V9 is launching soon. The Chinese smartphone maker has sent out press invitations to what is believed to be the Vivo V11 launch event happening in India on September 6.

It’s been rumored that the V11 will debut in-display fingerprint scanning for the series. Sure enough, the image in the invite indeed suggests that Vivo’s next smartphone may include a fingerprint reader built into its OLED display. The technology was previously limited to the company’s premium offerings, such as the Vivo NEX and X21.

Unfortunately, there’s not much else to report beyond the date of the reveal and the possible inclusion of advanced fingerprint authentication this time around. At least not officially, anyway.

According to the rumor mill, the Vivo V11 might sport a 6.4-inch, 2,340 x 1,080 display with a tiny notch resembling that of the OPPO F9 at the top. The dual-lens camera system on the back could make room for 12- and 5-megapixel sensors, while the front-facing camera is 25 megapixels, sharper than past iterations.

More impressively, it has been reported that the V11 will likely be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 chipset, with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The battery could be a 3,400mAh cell that supports fast charging. Additionally, the back of the phone is said to feature a gradient design, meaning it’ll change color depending on the angle and light, just like the Huawei Nova 3i and OPPO F9.
