The OPPO Find X isn’t as fragile as you might think it is. This was one of the things we found out after getting an inside look at OPPO’s QE [Quality Engineering] Lab at the company’s Dongguan manufacturing facility in China.

It is here that OPPO’s flagship smartphone, along with several other models, are put through a gauntlet of torture tests to ensure durability. The phones go through more than 100 tests, including button-click and environmental trials, that determine whether or not a particular batch of smartphones is okay for selling.

But the most cringing things we saw put the Find X in extreme situations that tried to bend and break the phone’s glass-and-metal structure by repeatedly twisting its body at odd angles and dropping it from a height of 1.5 meters. Not even the $1,500 (around P80,160) OPPO Find X Automobili Lamborghini Edition is spared from punishment.

Somewhat ironically, we were able to capture some of the tests using the Find X’s own dual-camera system. Watch the video and see for yourself.

The OPPO Find X is available in the Philippines for P49,990 ($935) without a contract. You can also get it through one of Smart Communication’s GigaX Plans, which come with unlimited SMS and monthly data and minutes.
