The Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, Huawei’s best smartphones yet, are now up for preorder in the Philippines, with their local release set for November 3. The regular Mate model is priced at P40,990 (around $767), while the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is retailing at P49,990 ($935).

But what if you want to get either one of them from a telco? What are your options? See what offers Smart Communications and Globe Telecom have in store for you.

Smart Communications

The most value-for-money postpaid plan you can avail yourself of for the Huawei Mate 20 is Smart GigaX Plan 1499, in which you pay P2,199 ($41) per month for two years. The initial cash-out is only P2,199, too. For this, you get free 5GB worth of data for surfing, 10GB worth of data for videos, unlimited text messages to all networks, 60 minutes worth of calls to all networks, and data rollover, meaning you can extend the validity of your unused data until the next month.

For the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, it’s best to get the smartphone on the same Smart GigaX Plan 1499. Monthly payment is P2,599 ($49) for two years, with an initial cash-out of P2,599 as well. Inclusions are the same as the ones for the Mate 20. But of course, the Pro variant is more feature-packed, so shelling out P400 ($7) more is justified.

Globe Telecom

The Huawei Mate 20 series, an online-exclusive at Globe, is only available in prepaid for now. This means you’ll need to shell out P40,990 for the regular Mate and P49,990 for the Pro version, too — same as when you buy it from Huawei concept stores and authorized resellers.

Every Mate 20 purchase comes with a free Huawei TalkBand B3 Lite worth P4,990 ($93) and a Globe prepaid SIM with free data for 15 days. Details can be found here. Every Mate 20 Pro purchase, on the other hand, is bundled with a Huawei wireless charger and the manufacturer’s TalkBand B3 Lite — freebies worth P8,980 ($168). It also comes with a prepaid SIM with free data for half a month. For more information, go to this page.

A Globe executive informed us that they are finalizing the highlighted postpaid-plan details for the lineup. The announcement will be made at any time soon. We will update this article as soon as they do, so check back here often if you plan on getting the Huawei Mate 20 or Mate 20 Pro from Globe Postpaid.

Update, November 3: Globe’s highlighted postpaid plans for the lineup are finally out.

For the Huawei Mate 20, the most value-for-money offer is ThePlan 1999. You just need to add P400 ($8) per month for two years, making your total cash-out per month P2,399 ($45). It already comes free with 16GB of data, unlimited calls to Globe and TM subscribers, and unlimited text messages to all networks. Plus you get free six-month subscription to Amazon Prime Video and DisneyLife; one month of Gadget Care, which offers hassle-free device replacement in case of accidental damage or theft claim; and Huawei SoundStone Speaker worth P2,990 ($56).

Same goes for the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. The only differences are the cash-out (it’s P1,999 or $38 per month, making the total payable fee every 30 days P3,998 or $75) and the Huawei freebie (Huawei Wireless Charger worth P3,990 or $75).
