Back in August 2018, Xiaomi president Lin Bin gave us our first formal look at the bold and promising Xiaomi Mi MIX 3, while also confirming plans to launch the phone sometime in October.

It’s still unclear when the phone will debut, but an alleged teaser that recently leaked out suggests the launch event will take place on October 15.

Curiously, the first-ever Xiaomi store in London could open soon, as hinted at by tweets sent out by the company’s official Twitter account. Perhaps we’ll see the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 for the first time there? Don’t count out that possibility.

As for the phone itself, the MIX 3 will tout a full-screen design like the OPPO Find X and Vivo NEX. Unlike those other two, however, it may not come with a motorized camera system that slides out whenever you want to unlock the device or take a selfie.

Instead, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 will likely feature a slider screen that extends to all edges and hides the front-facing camera. And while that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, slider phones don’t usually have the best reputation for durability. The screen will reportedly max out at 2K resolution and could measure 6.4 inches.

Xiaomi has not divulged official details about the Mi MIX 3 just yet, but we can expect it to include a 3D camera similar to the one on the Mi 8 Explorer Edition. A top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with at least 6GB RAM and 64GB storage presumably powers the unit. Rounding out the rumored specs are two 12-megapixel rear cameras, a 3,500mAh battery, and Android 9.0 Pie based on MIUI 10.
