Lenovo‘s ThinkBook laptops have grown in popularity as excellent productivity machines that combine a premium design with the versatility and power of a high-end convertible.

When it comes to getting work done, though, few can match what the latest Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 has up its sleeve — an extra screen. Launched at the International CES 2022, the new ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 packs an industry-first 17.3-inch 3K screen with an ultra-wide 21:10 display aspect ratio and an 8-inch secondary display that accepts pen input next to the keyboard.

Besides offering a panoramic view, which is great for gaming and multitasking, the main screen also operates at up to 120Hz and can cover 100% of the DCI-P3 color range, in case you need to do some graphics work.

The smaller complementary screen is useful for jotting down notes and editing photos, as you can blow a small part of the main screen up on the secondary screen. It has a more modest 800 x 1,280 resolution.

You can use it to display certain apps separately from the primary display or extend them. There’s also the option to mirror compatible Motorola smartphones on the secondary screen. It’s worth noting that Lenovo has integrated the stylus into the chassis, making it a lot harder to accidentally lose.

Powering the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 are Intel’s 12th Gen Core processors, supported by up to 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. It also packs a 69Whr battery and Harman Kardon speakers with Dolby Atmos, plus an FHD camera with a physical privacy shutter. It doesn’t have an SD card slot, but it does have a Thunderbolt 4 port, along with a regular USB-C port, two USB-A ports, and an HDMI out.

In the U.S., the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 will be available from May, priced starting at $1,399, or around P71,668 converted, making it more affordable than the ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo series. Not bad.
