HONOR Philippines’ X series of smartphones is growing, with the company officially adding a new model to the lineup.

The HONOR X8a has been launched locally, fetching a price tag of P10,990 (roughly $200) for the device’s 8GB/128GB configuration. Each purchase made during the preorder period — from March 14 to March 24 — will get a free pair of HONOR earbuds worth P1,590 ($29).

If the brand marketed the HONOR X9a 5G as an indestructible unit and the HONOR X7a as a handset with a two-day battery life, it’s showcasing the HONOR X8a as a DSLR-like smartphone, courtesy of the 100-megapixel main rear camera that’s assisted by 5-megapixel ultrawide and depth and 2-megapixel macro sensors. Complementing the imaging setup on the back is a 16-megapixel selfie camera.

The company also highlights the newly announced device’s design, showing that the HONOR X8a looks elegant; the frame’s sand-crystal-frost finish looks like it captures the glitter of light. And it certainly doesn’t hurt that the phone is light at 179g and slim at 7.48mm.

It likewise brings a 6.7-inch flat LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate to the midrange segment — one that has impressively slim bezels at the top and on the sides and gets a 93.6% screen-to-body ratio. Rounding out the HONOR X8a’s specs are a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset, a 4,500mAh battery, charging up to 22.5 watts, and a user interface that’s based on Android 12.
