The highly anticipated Redmi Note 13 series gets its debut in China.

The lineup consists of the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus, Redmi Note 13 Pro, and Redmi Note 13 5G smartphones and is priced from ¥1,099 (roughly P8,547 in Philippine pesos and $151 in U.S. dollars).

The star of the launch is obviously the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus. The device is the first model from the Xiaomi sub-brand to come with a curved screen and an IP68 rating. We like that the vegan-leather variant makes our head turn, what with a linear design that sort of divides the rear into four sections and gives each of them a different color. Looks refreshing.

The Plus version is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200-Ultra 4nm chipset and packs a 5,000mAh battery that has support for fast charging up to 120 watts. The rest of its specs have crossed over to the Redmi Note 13 Pro — the triple camera system on the back that’s headlined by a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP3 lens with a customized outsole sensor and optical image stabilization, the 16-megapixel selfie shooter, the under-display fingerprint sensor, the MIUI 14-layered Android 13 software, and the 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED screen with 1220p resolution, Dolby Vision support, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, except the one on the non-Plus phone is not curved.

Speaking of the Redmi Note 13 Pro, this handset gets a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 4nm chip and a 5,100mAh battery with 67-watt fast charging.

Joining the Pros is the Redmi Note 13, the most affordable of the three. The smartphone is equipped with a 100-megapixel dual rear camera, a 16-megapixel sensor up front that’s housed in a punch hole at the top center of the unit’s 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED display, and a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6080 SoC. It also features a side fingerprint reader, a 5,000mAh battery with 33-watt fast charging, and Android 13-based MIUI 14.

The series is expected to go global, but there’s no word on the international launch timeline yet.
