The world’s thinnest and lightest book-style foldable smartphone has landed in the Philippines.
The HONOR Magic V2 has gone official alongside the HONOR X8b in the country, giving devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 some local competition with the promise to let you “experience magic beyond the galaxy.”
The device is priced at P79,999 (roughly $1,431), and you can already preorder it at any time between today, February 21, and March 1. Early adopters get a free HONOR Watch GS 3 and Harman Kardon Aura Studio 4 HIFI Speaker valued at P28,000 ($501) in total.
Matching its premium price tag are premium specs and features. The HONOR Magic V2 that’s available in the Philippines comes with 16GB of RAM — expandable up to 23GB via the brand’s RAM Turbo feature — and 512GB of storage. That’s a quite-generous space for your files, including pictures and videos that you will capture on the smartphone’s 50-megapixel triple-rear-camera setup and 16-megapixel selfie shooter.

And if you need to charge the 5,000mAh silicon-carbon dual battery, you can do so quickly via the company’s SuperCharge technology.
The 7.92-inch inner and 6.43-inch outer screens support up to 120Hz refresh rate and the industry’s highest 3,840 PWM Dimming technology — a first on a foldable display. You get Android 13-based MagicOS 7.2 out of the box as well as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 5G processor, a hinge thatcan be folded more than 400,000 times, and the second-generation nanocrystal glass, which is said to be 10 times more drop-resistant than a typical glass.
Of course, the Magic V2’s main claim to fame is still its ultra-slim profile. The newly launched model is a mere 9.9mm thick when folded, ushering the thickness of a handset of its kind below 1cm for the first time and resulting in a weight of only 231g.
