Samsung users, this might just be what you are waiting for. The Korean technology giant has announced that more Galaxy devices will get artificial-intelligence features soon.

In a press statement, Samsung says it will roll out a new One UI 6.1 update that’s engineered to make mobile AI more widely available and accessible. The update will be released starting from end-March for the following devices:

  • Galaxy S23 series;
  • Galaxy S23 FE;
  • Galaxy Z Fold5;
  • Galaxy Z Flip5; and
  • Galaxy Tab S9 series.

This development comes after the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24, which introduced a hybrid of on-device and cloud-based AI to enhance one’s mobile AI experience when they launched earlier this year. But that’s only the beginning, as the company plans to bring it to more than 100 million Galaxy users within 2024, according to Samsung president and head of mobile experience business TM Roh.

With Galaxy AI, Samsung promises to deliver features that improve communication on AI-supported models. These functions include Chat Assist for adjusting message tone and translating messages in 13 languages; Live Translate for real-time voice and text translations for phone calls; and Interpreter for letting you converse with locals when traveling, as the split-screen feature shows text translations for live chats.

When it comes to productivity, there’s Circle to Search with Google. It gives smart search results with a quick circle-motioned gesture. You get organization features such as Note Assist for creating formats, generating summaries, and translating notes; Browsing Assist for creating detailed summaries of news articles; and Transcript Assist for transcribing meeting recordings and producing summaries and translations.

For unleashing your creative potential, the latest update offers Generative Edit, so AI-supported Samsung Galaxy devices can effortlessly adjust the size, position, or alignment of objects in photos to create the perfect shot. You can enhance images easily with Edit Suggestion as well as add extra frames for slow-motion videos with Instant Slow-mo. You can likewise take personalization to another level with AI-generated wallpapers.
