TECNO has showcased the newest members of its camera-focused CAMON line ahead of their official launch.

The TECNO CAMON 30 series — which includes the TECNO CAMON 30 Premier 5G, CAMON 30 Pro 5G, CAMON 30 5G, and CAMON 30 — got a fitting reception at MWC [Mobile World Congress] 2024 here in Barcelona, Spain.
The upcoming launch of the lineup will mark the debut of TECNO PolarAce, the brand’s first-ever imaging system with an independent imaging chip, specifically the Sony CXD5622GG, for unlocking an unprecedented 4K 30fps full-scene AI-NR HDR video for the first time in the industry.
A milestone for smartphone videography
PolarAce combines the strengths of both TECNO and Sony, featuring Sony’s LYTIA components, TECNO’s Universal Tone multi-skin-tone rendering technology, and cutting-edge AI capabilities.
The independent imaging chip within the TECNO PolarAce system boasts industry-first end-side FP16 floating-point computing, shattering the computational limits of previous similar ISPs. This results in 4.6TFLOPS@FP16, which is clearly a testament to the system’s processing power.

TECNO’s way of saying it will ‘stop at nothing’
PolarAce has four advanced engines designed to deliver unparalleled mobile videography quality and smoothness — NeuroNR Turbo, NeuroColor Turbo, NeuroHDR Turbo, and NeuroFPS Turbo — and they work together to bring 4K 30fps full-scene AI-NR HDR video and phenomenal low-light capabilities in 4K resolution. It is likewise able to process images in RAW format for a 30.3dB signal-to-noise ratio improvement.
Outside of video, TECNO PolarAce leverages AI for an impactful and enjoyable image capture. The AIGC Portrait feature, for example, will let you create an array of portrait disguises — from wedding dresses to formal wear — without downloading a third-party app. The AI One-Click Erase function, on the other hand, will allow you to remove obstacles and passersby seamlessly with just one click.

The first smartphone to be powered by TECNO PolarAce
While the young-yet-already-successful brand has announced the TECNO CAMON 30 Pro 5G, CAMON 30 5G, and CAMON 30 at MWC 2024, we are not certain if they will feature TECNO PolarAce. But one thing’s for sure: The imaging system will debut in the TECNO CAMON 30 Premier 5G.
The phone is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2024, promising to offer the ultimate imaging experience. There’s a lot to look forward to here besides PolarAce’s groundbreaking capabilities. Notably, the CAMON 30 Premier 5G’s design is inspired by traditional rangefinder cameras for that timeless aesthetic. The device’s metal textured zoom ring, robust body, and sleek metal mid-frame offer a touch of luxury and professional feel. And the Action Dot light adds a unique touch, serving as infrared-sensor and charging indicators and an activation light for voice assistants.
The TECNO CAMON 30 Premier 5G is also fitted with a 70mm-equivalent periscope camera for portrait and hybrid-zoom photos up to 60x. You get a robust 1.5K LTPO OLED screen, too — the best display in the history of the CAMON series — offering a captivating visual experience close to a 2K resolution, while retaining lower power consumption similar to 1080p.
The upcoming model’s dedicated Sony imaging chip, as well as MediaTek’s Dimensity 8200 Ultimate with Imagiq 785 AI image processor and 3.1GHz octa-core power, aims to deliver high-speed 21.258Gbps data transfer and boost overall device performance.
