Huawei has announced a stylishly cool yet budget-friendly smartwatch model in the Philippines.

The Huawei Watch Fit 3 is now official in the Asia-Pacific region. If you’re based in the Philippines, you can preorder starting tomorrow, May 14, until May 23 to score a nice bundle of goodies that make it an even more attractive proposition than it already is.

The freebies include a pair of Huawei FreeBuds SE 2 wireless earbuds worth P1,599 (around $28) and a gift box valued at P1,999 ($36). The Huawei Watch Fit 3 itself has a suggested retail price of P6,499 ($113) at local retail, so the extras alone make up more than half the price of the company’s latest wearable.

Design-wise, the Watch Fit 3 takes a bold new direction, adopting a sleek, stylish square exterior reminiscent of the Apple Watch. The resemblance is strong and perhaps even deliberate, but the new Huawei model is also lighter, potentially making it more comfortable to wear for long stretches of the day.

Besides the square OLED display, the watch features a rotating crown that takes you to the app drawer or back to the home screen if you’re anywhere else in the software with a single press. You can also rotate it to play around with some watch faces, a feature the Watch Fit 3 has inherited from Huawei’s more premium smartwatches.

The recently launched device ditches the traditional smartwatch size options for a one-size-fits-most approach. Thankfully, the design leans towards a slim and comfortable build that should accommodate most wrists. Our unit has a metallic gold body with lugs for attaching the white leather strap it comes bundled with. You can also opt for Green, Pink, Black, and Grey models with the latter sporting a bright red rotating crown that makes it stand out from the rest of the bunch.

Huawei’s press release

Huawei offers a trio of upgraded health-tracking technologies in the Watch Fit 3: TruSeen 5.5, TruSleep 4.0, and TruSport. TruSeen 5.5 promises more precise cardiovascular readings, leveraging AI algorithms and collaborations with various health organizations. This translates to a deeper analysis of workout performance and overall daily health.

TruSleep 4.0, meanwhile, offers a comprehensive breakdown of your sleep. It tracks sleep structure, quality, and health, along with new physiological indicators like heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, and breathing rate.

TruSport, the brand’s fitness-tracking suite, gets a shot in the arm with the Huawei Watch Fit 3. You get four new modes, including esports, which joins an existing roster of over 100 indoor and outdoor activities. Personalized training plans based on your running ability are also on offer here, factoring in pace, heart rate, distance, and other key metrics to optimize your workouts.

We’ve seen the smartwatch first in China last month and has been using it for about two weeks now, including here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, while attending the Huawei Innovative Product Launch event that showcased the Watch Fit 3 and other new products in the region. Stay tuned for our full review, where we’ll dive deep into this Apple Watch lookalike’s features, performance, and battery life to see if it lives up to the hype.
