We recently reported that Infinix has confirmed the launch date of its next GT series model in the Philippines.

(Update, June 10: Here’s why the Infinix GT 20 Pro might be the gaming phone you didn’t know you needed!)

The date to circle is June 10, when the Infinix GT 20 Pro — the brand’s second gaming-focused smartphone and its first flagship offering on the local market — will make its official debut here. With an expected sub-P16,000 (roughly $273) price tag, the GT 20 Pro is aiming to disrupt the gaming-phone space, appealing to both aspiring esports athletes and casual users seeking a value-packed powerhouse to level up their mobile-gaming hobby.

While we wait for the device to launch, check out this short video where we unbox the Infinix GT 20 Pro to see what the retail box and actual product will look like when it hits stores in the coming days.

Our short Infinix GT 20 Pro unboxing video

Under the hood, the smartphone packs a flagship-grade MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate 5G chipset, built on a power-efficient 4nm architecture. This pairs with a buttery-smooth 144Hz AMOLED screen and a Pixelworks X5 Turbo dedicated gaming display chip for a better visual experience.

Early benchmarks are promising. Our internal testing of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang on our review sample yielded a near-constant 120 fps with the graphics and frame-rate settings maxed out. Even after a 40-minute session, the average frame rate stayed a solid 113 fps, which is impressive for a phone in this price range.

Its camera system isn’t an afterthought, either, packing a 108-megapixel main sensor and a 32-megapixel selfie shooter. Keeping the lights on is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45-watt fast charging using the included charging brick.

Design-wise, the Infinix GT 20 Pro retains the Cyber Mecha Design of its predecessor, but with a more flamboyant twist. The backplate features a flashier C-ring Mecha Loop Lighting interface with extensive customization options. The brand has also opted for a semi-transparent back, which complements the pulsating RGB lights for a truly eye-catching aesthetic.

The Infinix GT 20 Pro is poised to shake up the gaming-phone segment in the Philippines. With its flagship-grade processor, smooth display, and competitive price, it’s definitely something to look forward to for serious gamers on a budget.
