Mark your calendars: The successor to last year’s Infinix GT 10 Pro, which was named the official tournament phone of the recently concluded MPL-PH [Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines] Season 13, will officially launch in the Philippines June 10.

(Update, June 10: Here’s why the Infinix GT 20 Pro might be the gaming phone you didn’t know you needed!)

The highly anticipated Infinix GT 20 Pro, the brand’s second gaming-focused smartphone and its first flagship offering on the local market, will make its debut here soon. Even better, the GT 20 Pro should cost under P16,000 (around $272 converted) in the Philippines, making it a hugely attractive option for both serious mobile gamers who are looking to turn their hobby into a profession as well as power users who want the best mobile-gaming experience they can get without spending a small fortune.

The biggest highlight, of course, is the flagship-grade MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate 5G chipset under the hood, which uses an efficient 4nm process and has been paired with a 144Hz AMOLED display and a Pixelworks X5 Turbo visual processor that’s designed to deliver smoother frame rates and a better visual experience for the user.

The X5 Turbo visual processor even allows for HDR graphics in certain titles, making colors pop and details stand out. This feature boasts compatibility with popular games like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty: Mobile, Honkai: Star Rail, and Genshin Impact. Meanwhile, Infinix‘s proprietary Stable Frame-rate Engine optimizes thermals and keeps power consumption efficient, translating to smooth gameplay without the unnecessary battery drain.

We tested MLBB on our GT 20 Pro, and we’re pleased to report that it runs close to 120 fps with the graphics and frame-rate settings set to Ultra. Our 40-minute playtime averaged 113 fps — a seriously impressive achievement given the phone’s expected price tag.

On the surface, the Infinix GT 20 Pro retains the Cyber Mecha Design aesthetic of its predecessor, but ups the ante on customization with a flashier backplate featuring the C-ring Mecha Loop Lighting interface with more RGB LED lights and customization options. Infinix has also opted for a semi-transparent plastic back on the GT 20 Pro, which looks cool, especially with the RGB lights pulsing beneath the panel.
