Your next big-screen TV might be rollable.

Not content with the first rollable 18-incher it unveiled two years ago, LG Display is about to showcase a larger version of that TV at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. And when we say big, we mean 65 inches big. That’s another world first.

You can still roll up the OLED TV like a newspaper — convenient when you want to transport it from one place to another. LG has upped the ante further by bumping the screen resolution from 2016’s 810 x 1200 to 4K or UHD. Watching your favorite movies on it should be a much better experience then.

We’ve seen other flexible big-screen televisions displayed at the annual tech show. But they’re just… bendy. You know, curved and definitely not rollable like the one in the video below.

There have been other rollable screens as well, but they are designed for smaller devices like phones and tablets.

LG says the concept is for you to be able to tuck the paper-thin OLED TV away into a box that’s about the size of a soundbar when you’re not using it. You can unroll the television when it’s “couch potato” time.

No word on when it will be available commercially — or how much it will cost when that time comes. But trust that we’ll report it here as soon as LG Display shares more info.
